Tata Motors raises prices by up to Rs 12,000 excluding Nano, Aria

Tata Motors recently hiked the prices of its passenger vehicles excluding its small car, Tata Nano along with the premium crossover, Tata Aria. The company has raised the prices by up to Rs. 12000 to pacify the burn of soaring input costs.Tata Motors said that the price upshot has been effectual since yesterday across India. According to a spokesperson of Tata Motors, the lofty input costs have been affecting the company in a negative way since a long time now.

Therefore the company has made a decision to pass on some of their burden on to their consumers by increasing prices on its passenger vehicles. The leading car manufacturer from America, Ford India is planning to strengthen its grip on the Indian car market. To achieve this goal the company will be opening 45 new dealership centres in the country in one day itself, that is 16 Feb 2012. As stated by an employee from the company, this plan is just an effort to improve their dominance in the Indian car market and the company has no intentions of lining up a new launch anytime soon. Two years back Ford India had taken a similar step by inaugrating 28 new dealership centres in one day all across the country but that step was taken in lieu of the introduction of Ford Figo in the Indian car market.
