Car Prices & Interest Rates in Coming Days

There will be LOTS of sales in the coming months, but that doesn't mean the cars are actually on sale. I don't know what happens to NEW car prices during this time period, but I just sold a 2005 Equinox with 22k miles. It was an estate item. I booked it June 7th. Then about 2 weeks ago I booked it and it had actually gone up $200-225 in value. I heard some other models did, also.

I've heard the BEST time to buy a car is in December. Dealers want to close out the present year models. They want to make room on their used car lots, and want their inventory reduced before tax time. I'd say December to Jan. 30th is the best time.


I don't know about interest--lots of places offer 0% interest on financing, but then will charge more for the car.

Mahindra XUV500 Prices and Review

Mahindra and Mahindra has shaked the D-segment SUV market with the launch of its all New World SUV which was been codenamed as 'World SUV W201'. Mahindra has announced the official name for their new SUV, it will be sold as XUV500. The Mahindra XUV500 has been developed from scratch and only one thing is common in Scorpio and XUV500 - the mHawk diesel engine (which has also been fine-tuned to develop 140 bhp of maximum power and 330 nm of maximum torque). XUV500 has been in talks from last one year, now the time has come and Mahindra has finally launched the XUV500.

Mahindra has priced the base model of XUV500 very competitively at Rs. 10.80 lakhs only (Ex-showroom New Delhi). Produced in Mahindra's Rs 2500 crore plant at Chakan, the total investment behind the project has been Rs 650 crore. XUV500 has been tested over 2.35 mn kms, with over 250 prototypes being built. The company expects to sell 2000 units of the XUV500 every month. Conceptualized with the aim of creating an altogether new category between the Scorpio and high end SUVs, the XUV500 is the next generation SUV targeted at Generation X, where the double O connotes the added Oomph value in the product.

It is for sure that will all these comfort and safety features it will be a runaway success because other SUVs in this segment are priced around Rs. 15-20 lakhs. The main rivals of Mahindra XUV500 are Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Captiva, Ford Endeavour and recently launched Hyundai Santa Fe.

Hyundai Eon Prices and Review

Hyundai India has unveiled the much-awaited small car ‘Eon’. It has nothing to do with the Hyundai Santro and i10. This car has been in talks from last year and it was codenamed as HA H800. Hyundai Eon will also be launched in other countries across the Globe. As expected, Hyundai India has priced Eon very competitively at Rs. 2,69,000 only for the base model (D-Lite) and Rs. 3,71,000 only for the top-of-the-line model (Sportz). These prices are ex-showroom New Delhi. Hyundai India has been able to price Eon so competitively because it has been developed in-house, will be manufactured only in India and will be exported to other countries like India is the manufacturing hub for i10, Santro and i20. The all-new Hyundai small car has been positioned below Santro and will compete with the likes of base model of Chevrolet Spark and top model of Maruti Alto.

Eon sports 814cc 3 cylinder petrol engine which generates maximum power of around 55 Bhp and maximum torque of 76.5 Nm. The fully loaded variant of Eon (Sportz) features power steering, front power windows, air conditioner, driver side airbag, body coloured bumpers, music system with 4 speakers, USB port, aux-in and remote levers for fuel lid plus tail gate.
