There will be LOTS of sales in the coming months, but that doesn't mean the cars are actually on sale. I don't know what happens to NEW car prices during this time period, but I just sold a 2005 Equinox with 22k miles. It was an estate item. I booked it June 7th. Then about 2 weeks ago I booked it and it had actually gone up $200-225 in value. I heard some other models did, also.
I've heard the BEST time to buy a car is in December. Dealers want to close out the present year models. They want to make room on their used car lots, and want their inventory reduced before tax time. I'd say December to Jan. 30th is the best time.
I don't know about interest--lots of places offer 0% interest on financing, but then will charge more for the car.
